The Revivalist is one who calls the church back to Holiness. Elijah, detest the sins of the land and as he stood on Mount Carmel he called the people to repent of Idolatry and to return back to the pure worship of Jehovah.
The Revivalist is one who preaches strongly against sin and calls the church to repentance. In the New Testament we have such an example in John the Baptist. He preached a message of repentance that offended the religious authority of his time, but produced a Spirit of revival amongst the masses.
Smith Wigglesworth, John Sung, Leonard Ravenhill, John Wesley and many others all preached a strong message of repentance and holiness. I could not find any exception.
The messenger of Purity must therefore have a posture of purity. The message of Repentance and purity can only flow out from one whose whole being is consume with passion for God's Holiness.
Leonard Ravenhill said "The tragedy of this late hour is that we have too many dead men in the pulpits giving up too many dead sermons to too many dead people." We need revivalist at this hour who is filled with Holy Ghost passion for purity and repentance calling the dead church to repentance. We need revivalist who will not be contented with tickling the ears of the people, but who will proclaim with boldness the message of Holiness. John the Baptist went to the extent of rebuking Herod for his sins, an act which later cost him his life.
God's Revivalist in this dark hour are sons and daughters of God who would walk in purity and preach a message of holiness in the unction of the Lord, stirring the church to a place of repentance.
